Wave Operators for Classical Particle Scattering
نویسنده
چکیده
We discuss the fundamentals of classical particle scattering of a two body system in forces which are 0 (r~~) at infinity along with their Lipshitz constants. We prove asymptotic completeness for this two-body case. Of particular interest is the fact that in the absence of control on Lipshitz constants at oo, two solutions of the interacting equation may be asymptotic to the same free solution at — oo. §

Scattering theory for N particle systems in constant magnetic
We study scattering theory for systems of N particles in a constant magnetic eld under the assumption that the system has no neutral subsystems. We prove the Mourre estimate using the generator of dilations along the direction of the eld as the conjugate operator, and asymptotic completeness of wave operators for short-range interactions.
متن کاملThere is no “ first ” quantization
The appearance of spinor fields as operators or arguments of field functionals in quantum field theory is often regarded as a second quantization, since fermion wave functions were themselves discovered by quantizing mass points (" particles "). I argue that this language, though reflecting the historical development, is misleading. Field amplitudes always represent the true physical variables ...
متن کاملEnergy transfer in scattering by rotating potentials
Quantum mechanical scattering theory is studied for time-dependent Schrödinger operators, in particular for particles in a rotating potential. Under various assumptions about the decay rate at infinity we show uniform boundedness in time for the kinetic energy of scattering states, existence and completeness of wave operators, and existence of a conserved quantity under scattering. In a simple ...
متن کاملTimedependent approach to transport and scattering in atomic and mesoscopic physics
Transport and scattering phenomena in open quantum-systems with a continuous energy spectrum are conveniently solved using the time-dependent Schrödinger equation. In the timedependent picture, the evolution of an initially localized wave-packet reveals the eigenstates and eigenvalues of the system under consideration. We discuss applications of the wave-packet method in atomic, molecular, and ...
